About Align Partners Capital Management:
Established in 2021, Align Partners Capital Management (“Align Partners” or “APCM”) is a Korea-based investment management firm applying a differentiated private equity (“PE”) approach to the public stock market. The firm is comprised of experienced professionals with deep knowledge of the Korean market and strong track record of executing PE buyouts, M&A transactions, and portfolio management at leading global financial institutions.

•    Doosan Bobcat (Nov 2024): Public shareholder campaign which successfully led the company to discontinue the value-destructive restructuring process.
•    Listed Korean Banks (Jan 2023 / Jan 2024): Public shareholder campaign on all 7 listed Korean banks, which led to announcement of value-up plans and improved shareholder return policy including long-term shareholder return rate to 45-50%.
•    JB Financial Group (May 2022): Acquired a 14.0% stake in JBFG in 2022 and successfully appointed two board directors utilizing cumulative voting in 2024 AGM. 
•    SM Entertainment (Mar 2022): Public shareholder campaign. Appointed an auditor and reached an agreement with the management team to enhance corporate governance, shareholder policy and operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate would demonstrate the following:
•    Preferred: Prior internship experience in private equity, investment banking or equity research
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills both in Korean and English
•    Strong enthusiasm in investing and business analysis
•    Valuation & modelling skills with essential finance / accounting knowledge and high proficiency in Excel
•    Attention to details & teamwork skills / mindset
•    Strong problem solving and analytical skills supported by good reasoning and multi-tasking ability

•    No legal or administrative restrictions on travelling abroad

Job Responsibilities:
Off-cycle intern(s) in investment team will have a unique opportunity to work with highly seasoned and successful investment professionals and will support the team in various stages of the investment process.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•    Active engagement in live transactions, including both PE style investments and activism campaigns; sourcing, structuring, and executing a variety of private transactions, such as leveraged buyout, significant minority investment, convertibles, etc.
•    Identifying investment opportunities through financials-based screening and in-depth research 
•    Preparation of information memorandum (“IM”) and other internal & external presentation materials 
•    Participation in conference calls and meetings with industry experts, companies, and advisors
